Recovery and identification of human myxoviruses.

چکیده
The myxoviruses which infect man can be divided into two major subgroups (Table 1): the influenza subgroup which includes influenza virus types A, B, and C and the noninfluenza subgroup which includes parainfluenza types 1 (HA-2), 2 (CA), 3 (HA-1), and 4, mumps, measles, and respiratory syncytial viruses. Related but distinct antigenic variants or subtypes have been detected among types of both subgroups. In this manner, three subtypes are included among influenza virus type A: A, Al, and A2 (16, 17, 18). Influenza virus type B comprises three subtypes: B, B1, and B2 (16, 17, 23). Recently, two subtypes, A and B, were recognized for parainfluenza type 4 virus (4). In addition, at least two different antigenic variants have been detected among respiratory syncytial virus strains (7).

INTRODUCTION The coronaviruses are a group of RNA-containing agents which have been associated with respiratory illnesses in man and with a number of other conditions in laboratory and domestic animals. The name for the group was adopted to describe the characteristic fringe of crown-like projections seen around the viruses in electron microscopy; these projections are rounded, rather than shar...
متن کاملRecent contributions of molecular biology to the clinical virology of myxoviruses.
Recent advances in the clinical virology of influenza are based on non-pragmatically oriented research on the genetics and biochemistry of the influenza virus. Antigenically hybrid recombinant viruses can be tailored to provide monospecific reagents for serological studies. Basic research on viral structure and the mechanism of viral replication has directly influenced the establishment of a ce...
متن کاملRibonuclease present in myxoviruses.
Endoribonuclease splitting single-stranded poliovirus RNA is associated with virions of the myxoviruses fowl plague virus and Newcastle disease virus. These virions are devoid of deoxyribo nuclease hydrolyzing single-stranded M 13 phage DNA and ribonuclease hydrolyzing double stranded poliovirus RNA. The latter enzyme, however, is present in allantoic fluids of infected chick embryos from whi...
متن کاملIdentification and assessment of Human Error in Cabin Roofed Crane Using SHERPA and SPAR-H Techniques
Introduction: Human errors play a significant role in the occurrence of industrial accidents. This study aims to investigate the human errors in cabin roof crane operators of a metal industry using SHERPA and SPAR-H techniques. Material and Method: In this research, first, all of the tasks of the tower crane operator were identified and analyzed. Then, adopting SHERPA technique, p...
متن کاملQuantitative assessment of hemadsorption by myxoviruses: virus hemadsorption assay.
The standardization and quantitative evaluation of an assay for myxoviruses, based on the enumeration of individual infected clone 1-5C-4 cells manifesting hemadsorption within 24 h of infection, are described. Hemadsorption was detectable earlier than immunofluorescence in infected cells or hemagglutinins in culture medium. The relationship between virus concentration and cells exhibiting hema...
